Fake Physiotherapists Number 100,000 in Italy!

There are 100,000 false physiotherapists in Italy, reported recently in the Italian media. This is twice the number of real physios so a large number of patients in Italy may find themselves in the hands of an unqualified person. This poses risks for patients as for example the unqualified “physiotherapist” will not know the contraindications to treatment in many cases.

In the UK all physiotherapists must be registered with the Health Professions Council and the name “physiotherapist” is restricted to registered people only.
