Jonathan Blood Smyth
B.Sc.Hons (Zoo), Grad. Dip. Phys., MCSP (Member of the Chartered Society of Physiotherapy, UK, no. 40904), HPC Registered Physiotherapist in the UK, Superintendent Physiotherapist.
Born in 1955 and has been a chartered physiotherapist since 1982. Studied Zoology at the University of Newcastle-upon-Tyne, UK and was awarded an honours degree in 1976. Studied Physiotherapy at Leeds School of Physiotherapy, Leeds, Yorkshire, UK and qualified in 1982.
Worked as a junior physiotherapist at Addenbrooke’s Hospital in Cambridge UK and gained general experience from 1982 to 1989 until moving to Exeter in the south-west of England to specialize in the assessment and treatment of orthopaedic and spinal problems.
Particular interests are communication between medical professionals and people as patients, joint replacement, back pain and pain management. Currently works as a Superintendent Physiotherapist, Rehabilitation Department, Royal Devon and Exeter Hospital, Barrack Road, Exeter, EX2 5DW, UK, (National Health Service Hospital).
When not working, writing or trying to figure out CSS or XHTML coding for the site, keeps an eye on ebay for 19th Century english pressed glass or reading about astronomy and biology.
